Clowns and Gonis

My male clown thought it was a good idea to host one of my Gonis. He’s got some black marks on him that look like burnt from the Gonis sting. Could this be possible? Are they that dumb to take the pain and not want to leave?

Huh... interesting. I have had clowns host mushrooms, Duncan’s, but not a Goni.

I am sure clowns aren’t too bright and work mostly on instinct when it comes to hosting.

I have a pair of them hosting in a big hot pink goni. They also lay eggs on the glass bottom next to it.

Any burns/stings on them from the goni?

Yes, the clown fish had black spots at the beginning, then their slime coat adapted to the goni, the black spots disappeared.
