add ph probe to ca reactor

Easiest way (probably the cheapest) way to add ph probe to ca reactor.
I see people drilling all these holes and threading them to add a ph probe.

Here's what I did.
I cut the upflow pipe added a 1/2 tee with a threaded to slip to slip. In the threaded spot, I used a 1/2 od push fitting (the size of a ph probe). Been working for 5 years now.

Ok I looked again. The push fitting Is for 1/2 John guest. It fits a 3/8 Id fitting.

Just to clarify a bit its a 1/2 John Guest or push type fitting it seals on the outside diameter so it will seal on any inside diameter (ID). Good idea.

Jim

PS: Maybe you intended 1/2 John Guest to 3/8 NPT fitting??

I just checked my version of the same thing.

1/2" MPT JG fitting, that fits 1/2" ID tubing. The inner ring on the fitting measures almost exactly .5", and the OD of the PH probe I have is about .490" ish

Yeah sorry. I see how my posts were confusing. It's 1/2. It's just I use the on my manifold which is 3/8 Id tubing (which is 1/2 od). But it's the outer diameter that matters.

Sorry for the confusion
