Hello everyone my name is mike. I was sober for approximately two years from this addiction but here I am in relapse worse then ever lol. The display is 65x31x20. Sump is 72x24x18 frag tanks are a standard 30g breeder and a 7ftx21x12. Have about a dozen things left but I believe I'll be off and running in late fall.

It was from a fellow Boston reefer member. He had it made I am unsure of the manufacturer but I could find out if need be.

Yeah I've been meaning to update the thread. Working on plumbing and electrical now should be running in late fall. Its killing me unfinished lol.

Well this build turned out to be really slow. I guess like they say, nothing good in this hobby happens fast. Promised the wife a new laundry room and everything else has been put on hold. Took advantage of the black Friday sales. Picked up a BRS 150gpd dual membrane Rodi and managed to get my rockscape exactly how I wanted. Big thanks to Glenn (troopah) on the forum for helping me install the h20 overflows.
Added some new updated pics

Nice work on the laundry room! And for the record builds rarely go “as planned”. Chip away at it little by little and you will get there!

Great aquascape too!

Very nice. Progress can be slow but as long as there's a forward momentum. :)
What's is the operating water level of the sump? Do you know? It's not clear from the pics, but there's a baffle that is pretty high up to the top of the tank. This will mean your water level is pretty high. Make sure you can adjust this as you may need it to tune your skimmer. But more importantly, make sure you have enough margin for the whole system to drain to when the return power is cut.
Looking forward to see this system up and running.

This is my idea currently but there's been some minor changes. Instead of a scrubber and gfo/carbon reactor I plan to just run a large single or dual diy algae reactor. I liked the idea of a center return so u can manipulate the flow to the skimmer and refugium independent of one another. The operating level at the return pump will be roughly 8.5 inches if memory serves me. My sock and refugium chambers are tall somewhere around 14 and 16 respectively.

I believe your algae scrubber would benefit from the water directly coming from the display. Not after it has been skimmed.
How many drain holes on the display? Are you doing a Bean Animal type of overflow? I would split out the display drain so that one goes into left side(sock and skimmer) and one going into the right side(algae scrubber) and have them both going into your return section.
I run a 3 drain Bean Animal overflow. One goes straight into the sock, and skimmer. The second one goes into my LPS tank then into the fuge and then flow into the sock. The 3rd one is, of course, an emergency drain that only be used if the other two drains are clogged. I have all sort of nasty algae in the fuge but none in the display.

I like that idea of splitting the returns thank you. The main display has (2) H20 overflows. The frag tank has a bean overflow and I have a 30 breeder that will be plumbed in with a simple return/drain (90 elbow with strainer)

Update

Over the course of the past year a ton of things have happened and my dream of a frag room has been put aside for more important things at the moment. Thank you to everyone who's come by and bought items. Even though its no longer the "400 gallon build" I am still very happy with the out come
Current projects are
- neptune ato installed
-tidy up the wiring
-hard plumb in manifold for BRS dual reactors for carbon/gfo and algae reactor
Diy skimate reservoir with auto shutoff for protein skimmer
And setting up an diy auto water changer.
