50g sca starfire sps reef build (taking it very slow)

I dig the scape but let me ask you this. The shaded area from the arch, are you planning for corals there? With LED you won’t get much there. I love the caves and am looking at them for my build but man it shade a good area

I was thinking of put many if any coral under there. If I do put any coral it will probably be dendros, or sun coral. This reefbreeders is strong, in these pics the light is on 40%. If I put them on 100% I need sunglasses lol

Here’s a small update

Got some equipment in a week and a half ago.

I built my floating canopy and painted it (didn’t take a pic after I painted)

I added a led strip in the stand for some light when needed. I can change the colors to what ever I want and I can control it from anywhere with my phone.

And I filled the tank with saltwater, tropic edens live sand, some Bio-Spira and my raw shrimp to start the cycle

Let me know what you guys think so far. I’m missing some equipment still but I’m working on that slowly.

It's looking really slick. I love that nice uber long power strip you have going on too. Really can barely see the top on it too since it sits in there so well.

Thank you. I have always wanted a power strip like this but could never find one locally lol. When I seen it I had to buy it, there is just enough spaces for all the equipment I’m going to have. That’s what I was aiming for with the screen top I wanted to keep the look of the rimless but also have the safety of a screen top too.

Haven't updated in a while here's a few pics. The diatoms have cleared up sense these pics.

How is the back of the canopy held up? Is it nailed to the wall? Just looks sketchy, like the back has no support and I'd be scared if I bumped it the back would crash down on tank.

But very cool setup!

There is a foot mounted to the wall and the canopy is attached by hinges. I can flip the canopy up to get access to the t5s and leds. This style of canopy is called a floating canopy it’s suppose to look nothing is holding it up. Thank you

Off to a great start. I love that contrast on the clowns. I had a pair of SaddleBack clowns for about 6 years they are still my favorite to this day.

Thank you. These are just black and white clowns but the female is I guess you would call her misbar. The cool thing about the male is if you look closely at him when your in person you can see the light shiny blue along the edges of his white kinda like how snowflakes have. My wife picked them out and she calls them squishies lol.

Took some more videos of everything. Let me know what you guys think
