Arduino 2 Part Doser / Vacation Plant Waterer

After 10+ years, my two part peristaltic doser pump died, so before buying an exact replacement, decided to see if I could make the equivalent from the cheap peristaltic pumps on Amazon.

The results:

Bottomline, was not able to get a consistent slow drip by PWMing the pump, but produced a consistent 1.8ml per 500msec pulse, so control overall daily rate by rep. rate (25 minutes)

FYI: OSH PCB's cost ~ $25 (3 boards), will use the extra boards to water plants during vacations.

If anyone wants the Eagle files or Arduino Code, PM your email, and I will send them to you.

Very cool!

I've been thinking about something similar so I'm curious why one would choose Arduino vs. Raspberry Pi?

I only used an Uno, because I had one laying around and it gave plenty of space to lay in the circuitry. Liked the idea of just plugging the "Dose Board" directly into the Arduino without jumpers. I have never used one, but I would think a raspberry Pi would work fine. I am Analog, so my programming is rudimentary, so this was a test run to see if I could make it work.
