You are correct. If those off the shelf trace elements solution works, I will dose them. Unfortunately most if not all of them are just some sort of gimmicks.

What salt mix do you use Dong?

Since I use calcium reactors and Reborn media, which is real coral skeleton, there are trace elements in very small quantities dosed into the tank. I also do frequent water changes. So I don’t worry about lack of trace elements regardless if they contribute to coral growth or not.

I use coralife marine salt. You can see its trace element composition is close to red sea salt but alkalinity is at 8.

How often do you do water changes and what % of water volume?

I do water change everyday that is because when I sell coral, I pack them with large amount of water. Average about 5% of total volume.
