Baby rock flower anemones grow-out

Hi everyone,

Today I managed to replace the grow-out bag to let more lights thru due to algae growth on bag. I had to carefully scrape the footings of most of the baby nems off the existing bag with the glass scraper. Since the last update, I have added an astrea snail in the bag to keep the growout bag clean and I would just pipette out its poop daily when I get home from work. Very low maintenance so far. I feed them newly hatched baby brine shrimps as well as reef roids and live phytoplankton. I have difficulties taking pictures of them top down. But there are definitely several distinct color variations in the baby nems and they look gorgeous in person, some are purplish, some are green, some are yelowish and some are reddish. I’m pretty sure they all came from one mother nem though, causing me to think about the possibility of multiple fertilizations from different male nems due to synchronized spawning. I can’t wait to see them grow out some more. Here are a few pictures....cheers

It’s been awhile since I update this. Today I took the opportunity to snap a few pics while cleaning/bleaching the grow-out plastic bag so its more visible for me to observe. This grow-out is ultra low maintenance...they are growing quite fast and some are very colorful. Oh, by the way, they are also scattered throughout my display tank. I found 6 baby RFAs in my display tank. Possibly, the mama was still giving birth after she was acclimated and placed in my display tank.

Thanks for sharing the progress updates - so cool!

They are finally added to my DT this morning to start a mini colony on their own. In conclusion, the ones raised in grow-out bag grew a lot bigger than the ones somehow got scattered throughout DT due to daily direct feeding provided in the grow-out bag. Happy reefing everyone!

How are the anemones doing?
They are doing good in the DT, still adjusting to brighter light intensity and higher flow. A couple have left the frag disc and are somewhere in the tank. Growth seems slower than in the grow-out bag due to less spot feeding.
