Hi,
I have a few of these guys and I’m wondering what they eat other than frozen. Mine won’t touch pellets. I haven’t tried flakes because I don’t have any and didn’t want to buy some only to find out they won’t eat those either. If you guys have some, what do you feed them?

They eat frozen. If ,by a miracle you find one eating pellets, go play the lottery

Ya, mine eats frozen voraciously, and flake very infrequently. Pellets get tasted and spat out...

Oh. Ok. I guess I’ll keep feeding frozen. I was kinda hoping since they were captive bred I’d have better luck with them eating prepared foods. How do you guys feed frozen without having algae issues? I have horrible hair algae that gets much better if I cut out frozen.

I have a pajama cardinal that will eat flake, pellet and frozen.

I’ll try new lif spectrum when I run out of the stuff I have. It’s almost gone so I figured I’d use this up first before getting something else.

I have some flake food for my freshwater tank. I’ll give that a shot and if they eat it I’ll definitely get some.

I have a pajama cardinal that will eat flake, pellet and frozen.

I take it back. They don’t eat flake food. They just grab it and then spit it back out.
