16g nano tank

A fellow reefer told me to start a build thread-@absolutecarrot- so here it goes!

I Established a Biocube 16 on June 11 this past summer... so it’s been a little more over 4 and a half months! I bought the tank originally for $250, and ever since I have been using just the Biocube 16 light and no skimmer. So far it’s worked out pretty good! I started out with kinda a weird structure- wasn’t very good looking. It started out super cloudy I was super disappointed. When the water cleared though, it looked great! A nice little surprise was all the star fish that were in the tank, I thought they were the coolest thing.

I let it cycle for around 4 weeks until my params were around perfect... I could’ve definitely waited longer but I wanted coral and fish so badly, it was not a very good idea. Although nothing died, it wasn’t until the other day till my params were perfect... here’s a pic of my first coral, green star polyp. I put it on the back of my tank, although I later took it off cause it wasn’t doing too good there! I also bought a royal gramma named bubba and a nassarius snail

Unfortunately the nassarius snail was a bust... 15$ and it didn’t do anything, just sifted the sand around which is ok but still. The other day it came out of the sand for the first time in 4 months! It’s dead now unfortunately. My next purchase of corals were some party popper zoanthids that did ok, for some reason the zoas didn’t like my tank that much.

I bought my first big coral package around a month in, I bought 5 corals- toadstool leather, Kenya tree leather, Armor of God and golden zoas, and two others. @Reefer508 go check him out, he’s got some very good prices and is a real good guy. Anyway, here’s a pic of my tank after that- also forgot to mention I bought a clownfish and took the gsp of the back wall

I see you put gsp on the back wall, I’m trying to get mine to grow there to. The tanks looks great

I then got a cleaner shrimp for my birthday, but unfortunately my royal gramma was very territorial and started to nip at my cleaners’ antenna... basically I had to rearrange everything. It was a big project, and i thought I was going to kill everything, but luckily it did good! I made it look wat better, but unfortunately my royal gramma disappeared and I haven’t seen her since last month.

Somewhere along the way I got Xenia, and a couple weeks ago I picked up a 6 line due to flatworms that’s we’re in my tank. Now they just coexist with everything, and everything’s doing great! I’m receiving a coral pack this coming week, and now I am starting to propagate and sell my corals to anybody who wants them, just pm me and we can make something work!

This is what my tank looks like now- I got a hammer coral and I replaced the rock in my tank at the top with one that was full with coral! I bought another zoa, got a frag rack and got some sps and some other great coral!
