chateo dying?

Corwyn

I am in Raynham
so I started having cyano issues and after tracking back everything I had a suspicion that it started when I added the chateo and reactor.

I opened the reactor today and this is what it looks like with some definite rot a the end.

this is the setup I am using with a small pump circulating water from the sump.

Any ideas why this would happen? not enough circulation, too much?

It’s funny, it looks like the light is bleaching it...

I don’t know if it is a flow issue or the light is too strong. Maybe more flow will help with that but I am not familiar with reactors.

I wonder if it’s to much packed in there, I have about 1/4 of that and it spread apart and a MJ1200 feeding the reactor full bore and its seems to be okay.

It sounds like a nutrient issue. The Cheato is absorbing all of the nutrients then releasing them back when it bleaches/dies.

I would try adding a supliment like cheato grow to help it grow stronger as well as prune more frequently.
