So we're thinking about doing a group buy for clams, depending on how much interest we can get.

Please post in this thread if you'd be interested, and what you'd like by answering the following:

Maxima or Crocea?
Size?
Colors?
Qty?

=======================================================
Sample reply that would help us filter the data quick:

Maxima or Crocea? Maxima
Size? 4"-5"
Colors? Blue
Qty? 2

=======================================================

We would need AT LEAST 14 clams to fill the order (unfortunately I can't order any corals to fill the boxes because we're stocked to the rim :(, and need to clear everything out by end of first week of October)

Price wise, Croceas are obviously a LOT cheaper than the Maximas. Based on the pricelist a week ago, here were the prices of Maximas:

Clams (MARI-CULTURED)
Tonga Maxima Clam 2.5" $55.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 3" $60.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 3.5" $75.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 4" $80.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 4.5" $95.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 5" $99.99
Tonga Maxima Clam 6" $119.99

Prices do fluctuate, so I won't know the final prices until beginning of next week, but they should be somewhere in that range.

I have extremely minimal margin after shipping costs on those clams -- and as such, I can't afford any casualties; so these guys will have to be picked up asap (the day of delivery or the day after)

Please let me know if you're interested / have any questions :)

Thanks!

1st choice: Crocea. Color? Cool green or blue. Size; 3"

2nd choice: Maxima. Same colors. Same size.

So is the clam buy limited to Maxima or Crocea or can I order a Derasa? If so:
Derasa (first choice Tonga, second choice stripped with Blue rim)
Size? Small (less than inches)
Colors? Blue
Qty? 1

Do you have prices for the Derasa?

I'm not sure if they'll be getting deresa especially that small -- but I will check next week when they are close to receiving them :)

Thanks, would consider something bigger, just prefer to start small

Just in my experience clams under the size of 2-2.5 inches generally don't do to well in captivity. However I have seen it work it's just more difficult when they are small.

Bump for anyone else interested .. still need a bunch more orders :)

Count us in Archit :), been waiting for a deal like this:

Please order:

Qty. x 1 , Maxima Ultra Blue or Turquoise, 3"

Thanks.

Just in-case I can't meet the minimum requirements, I will be receiving 2 5-6" clams on Monday for anyone interested. They are maxima clams, and will be $100-$110 ea

Thanks,
