Today i noticed that my male clownfish “smaller of the pair” was swimming on part of my tank he usually doesn’t go. After watching him for a few minutes i noticed his mouth was not shutting . Has this happened to anybody else and is this normal? He is still eating and still goes after food.

It can happen if it got stung by bristleworm. I have seen this happen in wrasses. But this is the first time I'm seeing on a clownfish. If so, it will recover in a couple of days. nothing to worry about.

The other thing to inspect for is the gills. Do you see any growth or any parasite under the gills on either side?

I didn’t notice anything . Hopefully he’s back to normal soon.
