Diy fish trap

so for the past couple days I have been trying to catch my hippo tang and my fox face to no avail . I even tried fishing for them with a small fly fishing barbless hook and bait . since they wouldn't go in the small trap I have . so tonight I found another use for egg crate and made a bigger trap . I set the bottom on a sort of hinge so when the fish goes in , I just pull up on the bottom trapping the fish . now if they will just go in the darned thing lol. wish me luck .

Best bet - train the fish to eat out of the trap for a few days before you try to catch it. Do so by only feeding the tank by putting the food IN the trap. Wait until the fish don't hesitate to go into the trap to eat. Then yank the fishing line.

It takes a few days or a week, but trust me this works.
