Dosing Question

I shut down the alk dosing pump and plan on letting it come down some. Doing a water change now. Fresh water tested out at 11.6 dkh.

Monti is a super fast grower. I think the alk was creeping up gradually since the day the monti was sold. It most likely be the biggest contributor to your alk increase which depletes the calcium to 400. I think

Your fresh salt mix is 11.6 dkh? What salt are you using? It doesn't sound like water changes will help will the smaller coral load.

Peat moss is used in freshwater to lower pH. I wonder if that would safely help speed up your Alk drop process. Tanning might occur which you can remove with carbon.
