I have my apex doing 2% dayly water changes from 9 till 5 . Can I add kalk to my mixing tank To avoid fouling my ato? If the nine to five is a problem I’m considering replacing the shrill sounding dos with a couple of kamoer paristaulics.

You can't add kalk directly to saltwater, or it will percipitate out calcium carbonate. You would have to premix it with RO water. At that point, why add it to the water change water and not to the tank directly? It doesn't have to be through ATO, you can just dose a fixed amount.
