Eshopps nano skimmer

So I have had this skimmer on my tank for two weeks now. It has not skimmed a single thing beside a bunch of water into the cup. Tried spinning the motor both ways and everything. It’s in a 10 Nuvo and I’m starting to get aggravated I have never had a problem getting a skimmer to skim before

Does anyone have any info because Eshopps is useless when I call it’s like they don’t want to help me figure it out
