eshopps rs100 sump
ai prime hd
jebao rw4 powerhead
brs gfo reactor
no skimmer as of now...still deciding on which one I want to get.

Looks like a great start! Been considering turning my 6 gallon edge into a nano reef.... what light are you going to use?

It's super cute! That little tank has more plumbing than my 75g (I only have a single drain).
my wife said the same lol...I went with two 3/4" drains instead of 1" or bigger bc I didnt want to cut the top part of the plastic rim...I guess just preference

I wish afboundguy's better 1/2 would let me set up a small reef in her classroom but I think I'd have a better chance winning the lottery o_O
now you have to go play some numbers since you said that, good luck! wcj's wife liked the nano tank so much she asked about a jelly or seahorse tank last night...lol.

Question for you. How far down the front and side of the tanks does the light start hitting the glass? I’m trying to figure out if ai prime is diffuse enough for the 6 gallon edge.

okay so this is a good question because the ai prime's recommended height is something like 6-8" above the water but I have mine about 2 1/4" above (mounted under the fluval hood) because the light is black and I wanted to keep the look clean white.
now to answer your question my tank is 17x10 if I lift the light up to recommended height then the light hits the top sides of the tank right from the top...at the height I have it set at it hits the sides at about 4" down but I also have to put into account the plastic hood blocking the light spill (most likely)
I'm also running the light really low right now at no more than 50% blues only using 18w at its highest setting. posted some pics for comparison.

this is with the light at full power
Are you worried at all about corrosion on the light with it that close to the water? That’s one of the reasons I’m not sure about the ai prime. For that reason I was leaning a bit towards the fluval nano because like you, I like the sleek look of the edge and don’t want to compromise that. I may try to trade some coral for either one and see what people have! Lol

I actually haven't given that much thought but the lights shell is molded plastic and the flow of the tank isnt strong enough to splash up so no I'm not too worried about it. you can find a prime hd for cheap I'm sure and for what you want it for I believe will be the best light for your project as well...no need to go crazy on a nano light.
