Free Free: Apogee Model QMSS PAR Meter (Does Not Work)

I have an Apogee Model QMSS PAR Meter. After not using it for a while, I turned it on, and the LCD display only reads "-1". I called Apogee, and they believed this was a problem with the microchip, but they were not certain. Instead of throwing it away, I wanted to offer it free to the club. Perhaps someone good at electronics could fix it and get a $500 PAR Meter? It could also be the sensor or a loose wire. Who knows? I no longer live in the area, so I would have to mail it in a padded envelope. Is it appropriate to ask for postage in the free forum? If not, well, then you still get it for free.
