Hitchiker urchin

This morning I was working near my tank, the lights were off and I see something moving near my glass I turn the lights on and low and behold there is an urchin in my tank. I never purchased an urchin and the last time I added any frags to my tank was over 8 months ago.
So, is it a good one or bad one to have in a reef tank?

It looks like a long spine but seams to have short spines, if so It’s good but it’s a bulldozer lol

How?! I can understand a brittle star or maybe a bristleworm on a frag. But a urchin that size? Did you buy any large pieces of rock lately that would be my guess.

I have not added any rock since the tank was set up 8 years ago; and like I said, I have not put a frag or anything else in for 8 months. I am completely baffled by it's appearance.

OK, so a little update on this. I finally had the time to swing by my LFS and show him a picture and it turns out this is a Rock Burrowing Urchin(AKA Shortspine Urchin) . Not totally reef safe. Caught him tonight and he has been banished to the sump. Didn't have the heart to kill him.
