How do I stop Euroreef skimmer waterfall noise?

Mmmmm... on the other hand, I wonder how much this new setup would screw up the stability of the bubble column top level.
The great thing about Euroreef is that I don't have to keep adjusting it, I can just leave it alone.
It seems that the gate valve would not work as well as the "gravity approach" where the bubble column level would be constant regardless of fluctuations in the pressure. With the gate vale I think the bubble column will tend to go up and down and maybe overflow.
I might go with the "outer pipe" approach instead.
