Icecap skimmer

So I purchased the small icecap skimmer that goes in their sump and there are Zero instructions. I put it together and it goes full boar and floods the skimmer cup. There is only a gate valve for water output. Nothing to control the air. I would say put a valve but it's 3/8 and hard plastic. Anyone ever use the icecap skimmer?

The flow output should control the water level in the skimmer.

You may also need to raise it so it sits higher in the sump. Some sumps have a water level specified in the instructions..... on which you don’t have....

From what I can find they say 9 inches but it seems to be wrong it's driving me nuts. I think I'll try calling coral vue.

Hey man I went off your suggestion I found 2 issues first the skimmer gate was jammed some food safe grease helped and 2 used a plastic lid raising the skimmer to about 8.75 inches nice..... Pea sized bubbles. Thanks.
