Yep it is like cycling again but longer. But you can still work on rock scape and corals at least.
 
You need to test the copper to ensure you have the therapeutic level. Test every few days to ensure there is no absorption. You also need to dose copper to any water change water before doing the change. Two weeks at the therapeutic dose should kill the disease if you’ve done everything correctly. Leave your display fish less for 11 weeks. After copper treatment is done, you can either switch them to a new QT, or use something to absorb the Cupramine until you are certain there is none left. Other stuff might have negative interactions...like ammonia reducer. If you put that in with Cupramine you will kill everything.

Since the fish are in QT, you might as well do a regimen of General Cure once copper is done.

20 long with a sponge filter is what I QT with. I use copper power and hannah copper checker
