Ok what is a good light for a tank with fish and bta I have a 120 deep and want to put a Rbta in for my clown but don’t want to kill it. Also don’t want to break the bank.

A 4' ReefBreeders would be a solid budget lighting option at around $700.

If this is above your budget, a decent black box such as SBReeflights may suit your needs: https://sbreeflights.com/sbox-reef-lights/13-sbox-30-basic-3-channel.html

A supplementary Par 38 bulb could also work for a RBTA though this will look like spotlighting and only really light half the tank.

here is my 120G 4 x 2 x 2 I run a reefbreeders 48” photon and aquatic life hybrid T5 combo

Got it from Greg Hiller about 7-8 years ago I have to trim it monthly lol!

Sounds about right! Do you ever notice negative reaction from other corals when you trim it? I'm assuming you trim in the tank since it's huge.

Edit: sorry for derailing, OP!

+1 to ReefBreeders with supplemental T5.

I suggest you don’t skimp on the lights. If you want cheap LEDs, people have found some that work well for them, but you’ll have to invest research time. When you get some, I highly suggest borrowing the club’s PAR meter to characterize that light with your tank. @Mixed Reefer will hook you up when you are ready.
