Living across from the salt water I have put local hermit crabs in my tank many times, they don't last very long, I've often heard people say it's the higher tank temperature but I'm on the warm side of the Cape and our summer water temperatures get to the high 70's low 80's.

ah yeah the water i got it from was kind of cool . i drop like ten on my spare tank on the basement that is not headed . i see how long those last
