Mangroves

Anyone grow these in their sump or tank? Contemplating giving them a shot to add to the reef...

I have some for sale if you would like, I use them in my sump and overflow box.

I hear it takes a lot of them to make a difference in nutrient control. Is this true?

You don’t wanna add too many, they suck up magnesium

Thanks. Not adding them to be a source of nutrient uptake per se, more of trying to teach my kids about the ecosystem as a whole. We were discussing the Great Barrier Reef this morning and how the mangroves help filter the run off water from the land. Thought it would be neat to show first hand, but airline tickets are a bit pricey. “Baby steps”.
