Missing hard stalks on my duncans

My duncans seem to be doing very well.
Four separate colonies, all have grown 4-8 extra heads in the past 6 months.
But ... they are all fleshy stalks.
I would like to separate them out and give them more room to grow, but there aren’t any calcified branches to frag.
Any ideas?

They are reaching for light. That is just polyp extension then are fine and healthy. The skeleton will grow as it grows

Do you test and dose for ALK and Calcium? They need both to build skeletons. You need to maintain consistent, optimum levels. I have new Duncan heads grow pretty quick but the stalks grow slowly. Do you feed them?

What type of light are you using?

They are stretching, but that's because they are fighting each other for light....seems quit normal to me. I would agree with giving them time to build up the branches.

I have 3 groups of Duncan's with 15-20 heads each very healthy and look similar to yours.
Hope this helps
