My mandarin goby has disappeared

Could it be in the sand ? I moved the rocks around to see if it was trapped somewhere but nothing. Does anyone have an explanation for me or should I throw in the towel . It’s been four days

Saltwater fish can disappear quickly. If it died you'll likely never find a body. Check the floor around the tank as well

My mandarin hides out for a couple of days and then shows up when he feels like it. Hope yours shows up

Not sure what your clean up crew looks like, but if something perished in my tank overnight there would be no sign of it the next day. Hopefully that’s not the case, if you have a overflow check in there and as mentioned all around the tank on the floor

Thanks @tommy6905 I’m just going to throw in the towel and get a pair of mandarin goby next month to make me feel better.......

They can be a challenging fish to keep. How old is your tank and what was it eating?

My tank is 2 y.o very well established. Had her for about 4 months she was eating copepods plus will get in on the live brine shrimp action with everyone else too. Always visible always out and about idk what could of happened @kgstei
