prop tank questions

When I set up the prop tanks... Should I go with a shallow sand bed or DSB?

How much live rock if any?

any benefit in a prop tank of going Barebottom?

If you are going w/propagation tank, most people do not have a sand bed for SPS. With more flow you will keep the tank cleaner, and not have to worry about a sand storm

Will you have any fish in the tank? If not you can go w/less. The thought being that without a heavy bio-load, you wouldn't need as much rock. But for some reason all prop tanks seem to end up w/fish in them
I assume this will be standalone, not connected to your main system?

yes they will be stand alone. my plans are for 4-10 gl each dedicated to a individual type of coral. for example xenia/ shrooms/ lps/ sps. Lighting will be combined. eventually they will be connected to each other with a sump but not right now.

from what I understand some corals do better with a light fish load. so probably one yellow tail damsel or chromises in the tanks.

tanks will have eggcrate to keep the corals closer to the light.
