Reef probiotics

There is a compelling and expanding body of research showing that specific microbes can dramatically improve coral health, and especially resistance to stress and related disease.

This seems super salient to home reefkeeping, as our animals frequently experience temperature and chemical stresses due user error and equipment malfunctions. My strong suspicion is that some probiotic cocktail could eliminate a lot of coral deaths in home reefs. Anyone seen commercial products that try to address this? I don’t mean vibrant or nitrobacter, those are certainly probiotics but not thought to be directly symbiotic with corals.

There’s likely a rich dataset and resource hidden in our members’ healthy tanks right now! If only we could sequence, identify and culture the right microbes.
