Whoever answered the phone when I called(same person every time) was very courteous & knowledgeable. They sell a MDF stand as well as a solid wood stand. I chose an unpainted solid wood stand. The quality of the stand is good, but not sure it would be stain-able since some of the plywood edges are exposed. This set up is definitely worth the money.
