Stress from betadine dip?

I'm curious how much stress is typical from a 30 minute dip in 3-4 mL/L of Betadine following the typical 6 hour interceptor dip.

The last three times I've done the interceptor + betadine routine, all on acros, the tissue looks fine at 5.5 hours of interceptor but the betadine make the coral look terrible. The pigment gets patchy and the texture of the coral itself looks rough-- like the flesh is tight against the skeleton. Nothing has died, and everything regains its color in 1-2 weeks, but I'm wondering if this is typical or if I'm doing something wrong.

We dip in a 5.5 gallon tank filled with 10 L of tank water. We put in a very small powerhead, a heater, and an airstone. When I put in the betadine, I pour it very slowly into the flow of the powerhead, so it mixes thoroughly. Today I used 3 mL/L, but the two times before I used 4 mL/L.

Thanks for any help,

Abby
