Sump baffle question

Hi there, this should be a fairly easy question (maybe).

I recently acquired a sump from a friend and began to run it to check for leaks in my system. I noticed that the baffles are just about the same height all the way across. First is 11 and 1/8th and the other two overs are 11. Will this create any issues down the road? It seems as if the baffle for the skimmer section really doesn't do anything as the water does not cascade over it. Any info or help would be great. Also any questions please ask and I'll do my best to answer. Thanks

It's doubtful that this set-up will cause any issues down the road. I can't think of any at least. The first baffle will do little to remove micro-bubbles from the overflow. The only reason I can come up with for it existing is that perhaps the original builder used the divider to keep live rock in the first section without it getting in the way of a skimmer in the middle section.

yep thats about right , the purpose of the baffles is to create a "bubble trap " . or separate things from each other
