SUPER QUIET

So I found a spot in the living room where I can set up a new tank. The ONLY limitation and requirement I have to meet is that is has to be SUPER QUIET water and pump noise.


right now I have a red sea 170 running in the office and it's using the quiet pump that came with it.
water noise is good with the plumbing but my wife hates the hum it makes.

What pump do you guys recommend?

I am running a red sea 350 in my bedroom and have a Vectra M2 - I put a OXO silicone mat under it, just in case of any vibration. The only noise it ever makes is when I forget to fill up the ATO tank

I like my reef octopus dc return pump, use a various 2 for the return on my Red Sea reefer nano and can’t hear it at all...

Thats ridiculous. Maybe go sumpless without a skimmer.

Don’t forget the skimmer pump either - they can be noisy buggers too. Like said above, pricey but you’ll get total silence from anything Royal Excusiv. I can’t hear my RD100 return pump, and the only noise my skimmer makes is a slight sound from the air intake (BK mini 180).

My Jebao return pump with a silicone mat underneath is super quiet. Finding a quiet powerhead... that’s been harder.
