Tank flow options

So in my 21 gallon reefer nano I have a sicce syncra 3.0 which I estimate the head flow to be about 520 gph. I’m finding this to be too much flow as my shrooms on the floor of the tank are not appreciating the amount of flow they’re getting.

My question is, should I switch it up and get a smaller pump, or get a split rfg like this one?

So do reactors, long return lines, uv filters, elbows, etc. some AC pumps even have a flow valve like the Sicce Silent pumps, should be fine as long as you are careful. They do tend to run a little louder though when regulated.

I just noticed you have the syncra 3.0 you should be able to dial in down by turning the intake.

this thing, sorry if you’ve done this already

If that doesn’t work, a DC return pump should give you a bit more flexibility to dial in the flow and run quieter.

Yeah it does have that. Same issue as adding a valve though. Likely to make more noise and potentially shorten the life of the pump. Maybe I’ll try it slightly restricted and see if it helps
