Testing Alkalinity

It is hard to Cloud-fund a machine to do Alk test because it can be done in 2 minutes with the cost of 15 cents each test, via Salifert Alkalinity test kit.

Also, ICP can’t be used to test Alkalinity.
ATI, Triton and AquaMedic test Alk using traditional methods. They include Alk in their reports because they have to.

My triton actually don't report alkalinity (or nitrates) for reasons you say.

I test 2-3X/week, but less often if my calcium reactor seems stable (CO2 and water flowrates look to not have changed). You can make your own test reagent, the cost then drops way low.

What does the triton report. Thought it was alk calc mag?? I'm pretty uninformed tho

Triton tests almost everything - 50 parameters or so including phosphates, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iodine, iron, strontium, etc - just don't provide dkh and nitrates for the reason dong said. ATI presumably does separate test for them. I like Triton; it's just super-expensive so only do it 4x/year.

Ya no I think I mixed up the apex testing unit and the icp testing. What does the apex automatic mechine test for. Thats the big three right?
