Anyone using the meso flake and how do you like it?
Wife won’t let me go bare bottom so I’m going to order some meso.
Do you think it’ll hold to a bit of flow?
Says it’s 2mm in size

Does it buffer the ph any better than other sands?
I ordered the mini flakes already lol

I use a mix of meso 2.7mm and reef flakes3.0mm. The larger particulate is less likely to create the "sandstorms" and bare spots from the more powerful circulation pumps common today.

Sand buffering ph is a myth.

It won't effect ph until it gets low enough to start to disolve sand and rock. 7.0ish.

Good to know on the buffering effects.
Either way I have no clue what this sand is and that came with the tank and I’m pretty sure some of it was picked up off our shores. Mini flakes are on the way lol

Just remember that tropic eden is old school and needs a good rinsing before use to get the dust out.

Maybe the live. The dry is dusty. Says right on the bag rinse.

The live one says rinse too lol
I didn’t rinse it and it was clear overnight
