Wait time

Last week I added a copperband. He didn't get along with my powder blue tang and the powder blue died a few days later. A friend told me not to get a new one till the tank settles down. Question should I wait a few weeks before replacing it or just get a new one soon.

What's the cause of death for the powder blue? Don't say the copperband beat it up because that will never happen.

I asked because you have to be honest here. Powder blue or any kind of Powder for that matter is a very ich prone fish and get stressed very easily. Most of the time, it gets aggressive towards new fish with the same shape and starts to chase after it. From this, it stressed itself and usually ich shows up.
If it is indeed ich or some other disease from either the Powder blue or the copperband, you have to slow down.
Otherwise, you can add a fish today but I wouldn't add a powder blue or brown.

I think just stress from the copperband in his turf. he was fine for months

Ok it happened so fast I didn't see signs of ich but that seems likely. the whole process was 48 hours.

depends on the fish, sometimes roulette with the copperband. other fish get quarantined.
