What to do with used carbon?

Should I put the used carbon around trees? With plantings? Is it good for drainage? Just seems strange to dump it in the trash.

Do you mean compost in the garden? Does that work? Can I just sprinkle in my garden? It seems like it would pull my fertilizer out??

I would trash it, if it absorbed toxins it is waste that you would want gone and not on your land. Given it will have salts too it won’t be good for trees and compost if it’s a regular addition. It would preform poorly as drainage as well as it will act as a particulate filter and clog eventually.

I throw mine in the same pile as my coffee grinds out back. Rinse it, and it'll do fine with conifer trees.
