Hey all,

Suppose I’ll throw up a build thread for my 10 gallon mixed reef I have going. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while it’s been running since October 4th, 2022 so about three months now.

I started out with a hang on back filter which about a month later was replaced by a remora hob skimmer with a mj1200. I’ve never run a skimmer before but it seems to work quite well, water clarity and quality seemed to improve so sure why not. It has a basic 50 watt in tank heater hooked up now to a WiFi inkbird (love that peace of mind, just need to get the magnetic probe holder as the suction cups have let go a few times already), sicce nano voyager 1 powerhead to help with flow, and lighting the tank it has a clip on nicrew hyperreef 100 watt light. It has probably 15 plus pounds of live rock and 10 lbs I think of dry sand about a 1-1.5” sand bed. I use Red Sea blue bucket salt and use Red Sea liquid foundation supplements to keep everything in check. I do a weekly 10% water change which keeps most in check just mainly dosing for alk consumption which is done manually mixed in a cup of tank water with a hole at the bottom right into the tank. I also dose Red Sea reef energy plus daily since after Christmas and I like what I see from that so far more polyp extension and maybe better coloration from corals with no side effects to water quality. I had a brookynella outbreak killed off my clownfish so I just have a purple firefish with hermits snails and over 50 different corals 2 rock anemones 1 mini maxi carpet anemone and 1 green bubble tip anemone. It’s quite full some would say some would say there’s room for more lol. I think that’s it roughly for a rundown of the tank it’s simple but works well, this is temporary until I get my 40 breeder setup.

Yes I get carried away like a kid in a candy store. I just need some time to place things around the tank and I’ll have plenty of room haha. Thank you!

I was feeding my lone fish and dendro today and my scoly came out for a feeding as well here’s a few pics enjoy!

Wow that’s amazing I’ve never seen a Scully doing that
It’s my first ever and I love it they are so cool! Anything I can feed and tinker with is fun for me, I like to believe I’m helping them grow and thrive lol.

Nice selection of corals.
Thank you!

I’ve been reading your build thread, I see you like the ghl controllers over the apex may I ask why that is? Down the road I’ll get into a more automated bigger setup (just need to finish the basement is the deal with the wife lol)

Build quality and they always work.
