Maybe those clowns from ATM in Vegas They crack me up. Ever hear of cycling a tank and not just putting a dozen or fish in a new tank. Also, maybe not having so much drama. I did a water change, cleaned my skimmer and scraped coraline algae off the glass the other day. It was not that exciting, sorry.

As much as I hate that show I was talking to jay about tanked he said when they did the guy in woburns tanks the pat shown on tv is nothing like what they do. They bring this Bucket of bacteria with them that some company makes for the commercial tanks. It's like an auto cycling so you don't have to wait. Plus they don't use lr so there is no die off. The water adding was done and filmed prior to the filming day and the temp is adjusted before. So they really don't kill to many fish. Now that being said they completely screwed up the filtration for the guy in Woburn and it all had to be ripped out. They also had to rip out all the metal stuff they put in the tank that they clear coated because it was corroding and filling the tank with a white cloud. They normally use canister filters on their tanks and clearly had no idea what to do with a reef tank so jay re did the whole thing and it is looking great and running great. I know jay put in hundreds of hours helping them film and fixing it after they are gone. I also heard from someone else the guy is suing ATM for all the money he spent plus the money to fix it.

how can anyone on a reef tank related forum, hate a show about building sick aquariums?!?!?!?!?! The network makes those guys create drama. If animal planet flashed fame and fortune in your face, believe me, i think I speak for all of us, we would do the same crap.

Damn!! Is that true? WOW. I heard that the Feng-Sheiu tank crashed too. (not sure if I spelled it right, or if thats even true)

i agree with lex that they do still make some sick a** ******** on that show. tho they dont do the best with reef tanks. and also in one of the episodes they specifically say that they add bacteria to do an instant cycle and that they have the water and fish acclimating for over a day b4 introducing them. as lex sead all the drama is from animal planet, a show thats only about fish sitting a bucket for 24 hours isnt very exciting. now to give my criticism i dont think the skate board ramp is smart specially with tangs let alone other fish they will here the banging and noise and will stress out, plus you NEVER make a puffer fish inflate idc that they sed "dont try this at home" u NEVER do that. its going to stress the fish way out and probably kill it. all in all i still watch it and i want a big a** jaws tank in my room

It's great that these reality shows have generated activity in this hobby, However it has created more irresponsibility also... These shows give the average aquarist the perception that you get a tank, hook up a garden hose, pour live bacteria, and presto it's safe to Add an achilies tang, etc... It creates a false sense of accomplishment, and ensures failure for the novice.

Yes it is true they put the sump at the same level as the ground in Woburn the tank was on the ground and kept over flowing there was also a ton of problems in the tank. They tore all the stuff out filters inside and everything and shipped back. They do make a great tank and a good display for a commercial pro kept tank but they know nothing of filtration and fish care

Saw somewhere else that the tank was made by Living Color Aquariums and they wiped the tank from their site shortly after the incident.
