I am planning on purchasing some 3030 aluminum extrusion pieces after Christmas and I am looking at getting 15-17 pieces of 2000mm (78.74 inches) and shipping is a whooping $95. I compared prices of the smaller lengths and shipping is about the same even if I get more smaller pieces so guessing it's weight related. With the significant shipping costs I figured I would see if anyone else is interested in doing a group buy to save costs of shipping.

Company's website is https://www.zyltech.com I found several build threads on R2R that recommended and used this company and they seem to be the best priced around. I will be getting 5% off the order since it will be my first order (not shipping) and I plan on emailing the company to see if I can sweeten the deal if I can get a few people to do the group but.

Terms of this group buy:
I would require payment up front before placing the order either cash, Venmo or PayPal (friends and family/no purchase protection as I don't want to loose money) Cut off for the group buy will be Monday Dec 30th noon. Pickup will be in Ipswich MA by Jan 10, 2025 otherwise I would throw out items so I can stay married as wife is already not a fan of the train and tank stuff multiplying in the basement :ROFLMAO:

Dave i’ll take a look when I can. I need to build a light rack which will sit into my new open canopy I have to build. I am only looking for 2020 extruded aluminum though.

They have 2020 and I will be getting a few pieces of 2020 myself for the lights on the two tanks.

Heard back from the company and they offer the following group buy discounts:

100-$299- 15% off
$300-$499- 20% off
$500-$999- 25% off
$1000+ - 30% off

Just by myself I will already be on the verge of hitting the $500-$999 range...

Hello, I saw your post on the Aluminum buy...while I used to be a local Boston guy on BRS. I'm in FL now...I just have huge question if I may...I assume (correct me if I am off) but if using 2020 black coated aluminum rails..I could buy the 2 flat odd shaped 3 sided brackets one for each side of the 2 rails at 90 degrees and join them.. I am looking to mount my Radions to my back wall and extend the two XR15s 18" to center of tank on Ecotech 30" rail...does that sound feasible using this type of stock ? Strong enough for the lenght from wall in a triangle shape ?

Thanks for any input you can offer...never worked with this material before. I am amazed no one makes them ready to sell like this.

Thanks
Jerry

Sorry missed this. I don't think I am versed enough to answer. I have heard of several people using 2020 to hang their lights though.
