Hi all,

been in the hobby for around 6 years. Currently I have a 450 display and around 300 gallons in the sump... the tank will be a mixed reef but it’s still in the begging of its journey. I’m a member of R2R but I’m giving this forum a go to see if maybe this will be my new home. Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Tank looks awesome so far!

Thanks! I actually have 12 fish in it so far, the pics are a bit dated. I’m looking to have a whole bunch more, The size sump I have will allow me to have a fairly hefty bio load. I’m trying to have this build parasite and disease free, so I’m only purchasing pre QT fish and I’ll be QT all my corals for 76 days. Unfortunately the tiny bit of live rock I got to seed the tank apparently had aiptasia on it... grrr... so I’m getting 22 peppermints to hopefully help the spread

Awesome looking setup!! Add a couple filefish to munch on the aiptasia.

I totally would but I really want clams and don’t want to risk any corals (when I get them) getting eaten. There’s a ton of rock work so if i do eventually get one as a last ditch effort, it may be super difficult to get it out.

Welcome to BRS!

450 is a serious size tank! Is it on a concrete slab floor?

Thanks! I could always go bigger but unfortunately I haven’t hit the lottery yet lol.

Nope, one side is on the foundation and the other is on the beam, two lolly columns underneath just for the extra piece of mind.
