Ok little update , got three sps coral to see how the go from Jays , all test have been great .. Started leaving the lights on an 9 hour schedule so far no algae break outs .. things seem to be going in the right direction
The three turbos clean rocks good , you can’t tell there is a little brown on the rocksYep absolutely…it looks like you don’t have any algae in the tank though? With those crisp white rocks, your snail really doesn’t have much to eat.
Yep but also these guys can eat a ton of algae and the diatoms might not be sustaining them, especially if you have some tangs that are also pecking the rocks all day. Probably not a huge deal either way but IMO it’s not a terrible idea to supplement them with some nori, and I’d rather feed everyone a little extra than have the snails die and foul up the tank. The three turbos clean rocks good , you can’t tell there is a little brown on the rocks
LoL no plans for another nem , I had one in my old tank and my clown would host my acans not the nem , I think they do a great job helping keep the water clean thoughYep but also these guys can eat a ton of algae and the diatoms might not be sustaining them, especially if you have some tangs that are also pecking the rocks all day. Lol sorry if I sound like I’m nagging. Tank looks great! Any plans on adding a nem for the clowns?
Hey there, may I ask…. did you get the “new and improved” 625 with aluminum reinforced supports? We are getting back in but really struggling with the RS 625 or new 550. TIA!Ya I like the stand better on the water box , I was going back and forth my self on the two
I have the 625 G2 , it added a aluminum center support and the front armored corners in the display tank , so far I haven’t had any problems.. I love the 3/4 thick glass ..I wish the stand was all aluminum for more of a longevity standpoint, but so it’s been greatHey there, may I ask…. did you get the “new and improved” 625 with aluminum reinforced supports? Thanks , Make sure not to put the bottom panels in that the sump sits on ,that way you can level the tank , thats probably the main thing I didn’t like about the tank ,is putting the stand together, I am not patient and I probably swore just as much as you , I feel like I had less of an algae issue with the lights off approach myself comparing to my last system I set up.. Around three mounts or so I was lights out . The fish really didn’t mind because they were still ambient light from the room.. I used live sand with dry rock , with Microbactor7 which I still useLooking good.
I just set up a 625 and plan on taking the same slow, lights off approach. I know exactly what you mean about drilling the slide out panel - how the heck are you supposed to get it level?
A lot of very bad words were spoken yesterday...
