Saltwater

this may be a silly question and if it is I’m sorry!

I’m using two 20 gallon buckets to fill my 40G Breeder. If I bring salinity to both where it needs to be, when I mix both and put in tank. Will that double the salinity???

Nope.. If it's the same in both buckets it'll stay the same when added together. A variation you make get is if the salt isn't fully dissolved and mixed.

Twice as much salt but twice as much volume too, so the salinity does not change.

“Calculate appropriate v/v dilution using the formula C1V1 = C2V2 where C represents the concentration of the solute, and V represents volume in milliliters or ml. An example would be combining 95 percent ethanol with water to mix 100 ml of 70 percent ethanol. The calculation is 95% X V1 = 70% X 100ml”
