I started building my aluminum extrusion stand/desk combo and I was looking for everybody's input to see if I should add another support in the center where the yellow line is? Footprint is 20"x20" and the edges will be directly on the outside and I have the extra center pieces already but wasn't sure if adding another center one would be a good idea or just totally overkill?

Imo I think you'll be fine, adding a center truss wouldn't do much since there's no lateral force. The 4 triangle braces that you have at the ends of the center most cross beam should be able to secure the rectangular frame from warping.

I think the key is to make sure force path distributing the weight of the tank is loaded axially along the 6 vertical extrusions to the floor. Other stuffs are just to ensure the rectangular frame stays rectangle.

IMO You'll be fine. There is no turning or twisting forces.
Thanks that is sort of what I was thinking and figured I was just going overboard and over planning. Definitely saves me time by not adding the center brace as I'd have to disassemble one side!
