Edit by Greg Thevenin:

This information is further down in this post, but I'm putting it here, in red at the top of this post so that no one misses it:

Only post your first hand experience with the vendor concerned. Do not ask questions about another user's experiences. Do not post discussion about another user's posted experiences. If you have specific questions regarding a vendor (Location, Hours, or Contact Information for instance) you can post a thread in "Reef Talk" asking for this information, it should not be posted in the VE forum. This way the VE forum posts provide a record of users' experiences with the vendor, and all fluff, distraction, bashing, and argument is omitted. Please remember however, that the BRS forums are not a battle ground, and nowhere on this site is it acceptable to "bash" or "flame" any vendor. Any and all "discussion" concerning a particular vendor should be limited to this forum with a very small number of exceptions. If you are unsure if something you are thinking of posting may fall into this category, contact a BoD member for clarification.

Also, comments regarding things other than fish, corals, invertebrates or dry goods for the aquarium hobby will be removed. For example, how the puppy department takes care of it's puppies is not considered relevant information regarding our hobby and is therefore inappropriate.

If you have a specific questions regarding a given vendor (such as Location, Hours, and/or Contact Info) you may post a thread asking for them in "Reef Talk" but please try and refrain from starting "discussions" regarding vendors outside Vendor Experience forum or in that particular vendor's sub-forum (if they have on on our site).

Welcome to the vendor experience forum. This forum will be moderated a little more strictly than our other forums. It will also be moderated by ALL our existing moderators.

All existing forum rules from the user agreement will apply here. In addition to the existing rules, we would like to point out that this forum is for civil reporting of any and all vendor experiences. The forum is not limited to sponsors.

THREAD TITLING:
Please include the store title, and preferably their location (city/state or website). This will make posts much, much more useful to people, especially when doing searches.

In an effort to make the VE forum more useful, all thread titles should be void of any positive or negative notation. The thread title should only contain the Name of the store and the location

THREAD CONTENT:
Please keep comments/threads focused on a single vendor. Do not reference other stores within a thread.

VENDORS:
Vendors are welcome to reply to posts made about their shop, be it in defense to a negative comment or thank you for a positive comment.

Self promotion is not an acceptable use of this forum.

Because of conflict of interest concerns, vendors and their affiliates should not post comments (neither positive nor negative) in threads regarding other vendors.

GENERAL:
This forum is not a battle ground. We will not tolerate "flaming" or "bashing" of any kind, from any party, be it member or vendor. Any such discussion shall be removed immediately and a warning given. Continued "flaming" or "bashing" shall result in suspension and/or banning of posting privileges. Experience discussed here is limited to personal experience only. Discussion of others experience will be removed immediately.

Please remember this is a public forum. Any and all slanderous statements are the liability of the author or poster. BRS assumes no liability in such slanderous statements.

Please direct all comments and questions about these rules to the Business Forum.

EXAMPLE OF APPROPRIATE USE:
Since this has already come up as a question, there is a distinction between discussing your experience with a vendor and "flaming/bashing". Stick to facts. Do not call people names. An example:

"The people at the store were bozos." BAD (bashing)

"The employees did not tell me that the fish needed special food and a higher-than normal temperature. They just didn't seem very knowledgeable to me." ACCEPTABLE
