waterbox dx 220

A little update. Everything is doing fine add some corals and it's not enough to put up my calrx running but water change made everything in line. Haven't check nitrate and phosphate today but alk is sitting around 8.2-8.5dkh where I like it at. Also got my pax bellum going so will test nitrate and phosphate next week. i have a question, I have a 57w uv sterilizer but when I go into apex why is it only drawing 44w is that normal? I just replace the bulb so it's not the bulb.

I bet it's fine. I have a aqua uv 15w and my Apex currently shows it as 12w. Will test tomorrow with a kilowatt meter out of curiosity, but when I noticed the same thing with my skimmer wattage, I confirmed the Apex reading was just off...

I have my return pump and skimmer set on the same wattage and both is accurate just only the uv drawing almost 20 watts less.

My 50w uv shows 49 watts being pulled, 60w skimmer pulling 60. I’m assuming your uv watt is accurate, likely just overstated by the brand. Mine is a pentair (old emperor aquatics I believe)

Yea mine is aquauv brand and before I have the 25w for my 90g tank and it actually showing around 25w. But this time the 57w only show 40s watt.

So, tested it with the killowatt meter this morning, sure enough it's actually around 11W. So, the Apex would appear to be roughly accurate, go figure! Maybe it's an Aqua UV thing?

I have found though that the Apex can be inaccurate with certain devices. I had it backwards in my head when I posted late last night, but for my Octopus 150 the Apex was consistently showing close to 60W, when in actuality it was around 30W. So, in that instance, the Apex was actually reading high (this has been noted in other Reef2Reef threads as well).

A little update for the build since holiday season is here so have to hold off some acros coming in. But water finally clearing up since had a bactial bloom. All parameters check and alk has been stable at 8.2-8.5dkh. So far no casualties on any of the acros. Now all about waiting game for the acros to grow

Took down the t5 hybrid fixture and end up using 5 radions xr30 blue on a 6ft tank. So there will be no shadow at all. And got the canopy from @this is me beautiful fixture. Beside the canopy upgrade everything is going smoothly. Now waiting for kalkwasser reactor to come so I can get my ph up to 8.2 or 8.3 I hope.

Looking really good. Are you running those 5 XR30s front to back?..... yup 5 should do the job, especially with the crazy spread the gen6s have.

Yes the radions run front to back. The t5s it heats up the tank like crazy. My heater basically only kicks on at night time and day time it never goes on. I'm still using g5 with diffuser so right now it's 12" abover water and 50% overall intensity. Still have room to blast it but have to check par level before I increase them. Can't wait til all my frags to become colony. Filling in nicely right now.

3 months mark and starting to see frags encrusting and coraline algae on the back wall and bottom of tank. I guess it's a good sign of stability. None of my frags die from the one month mark trial so going to add all the high end pieces in.

My checklist so far.

Not much for the update. I eventually bought 3 more versas and versa station so have 4 total now and two will be running continuously for calrx and kalkwasser reactor and the other two for dosing tp elements k and a. But that will be far down the road since I do water change every week 10%. Tank look cloudy because just dose ab+. Can't believe this tank been up for 4 months already. And my frags still so small lol. Can't wait for a 1 yr mark to see how it is.

Not much of an update but here's a new toy I just got. Geos kalkwasser reactor have to wait for 6 weeks for this. Let see how much of a difference in ph will be in couple of days. Hopefully will get to 8.2-8.3 which I'm aiming for. Currently sitting at 7.7-7.9 I guess it's fine for some people but heard high ph will have better growth so mine as well try it out.
