So i have a 20 gal or so refug now and it douse the job but i have a 54 gal corner tank that i was thinking of turning into a refug this way there will be more room for live rock and will bring up the over all Lpg. Has any one done this? i could not find any links or pic to try to get an idea of where to put the baffles.

here is what i have now (pic) still looking for some Chato if any one local has some to spare.

if you are going to use the 54 as a fuge, then i would say no baffles needed. Make a nice display fuge, and tie it to a common sump with your display tank.

How would you make a display fuge? I assume you would still have a seperate sump for your skimmer, etc? I have a couple empty tanks...

gtafanatic - sent you a PM

Water would flow: main tank > fuge > sump > main tank.

If the tanks are equal height and next to each other you can use a U shaped tube, but the water in the tank the water is flowing to needs to be slightly lower than the water in the tank it is flowing from. Then, from the fuge it would just drain to the sump.

i thought most people would have the fuge flow into main tank so as to have the pods not get in to the sump pump.

Me personally, since i dont care if the pods are minced, i would just have both tanks drain to the sump, and split my return line to both tanks. Nothing in your sump is going to clean the water well enough to starve the fuge.

Didn't think about the pods. You are right.
Either way, it works.

happy to help gtafanatic......best of luck with your refugium.
I can't seem to get feedback to work (maybe the source URL has to be on the seller/wtb forum...not sure exactly), but gtafantic is a nice guy and I give him positive feedback, highly recommend.
