Paired Purple Firefish

Well, yesterday, I got two Purple Firefish, one from Joe at AquaAddicts, and the other from B at Aq. Gallery. I know, I was taking a chance that they would get along, but upon putting them in the tank, they immediately paired up. No fighting, hung out together. This morning, I found them both side by side in a small little cave. Also, when one came out, it looked like he/she had its papilla extended. Could they be breeding already? A little while later, there was no sign of any papilla. So, did I luck out and get two to pair up? And, do these guys breed in aquaria? Thanks
