Think people are going to ask you:

1) What size tank?
2) How old is your tank?
3) What are your parameters?
4) How often, how much do you feed?
5) How often do you do water changes? How much water is changed?

The more info you provide, the more likely someone can assist.

6) Are you using RODI? How old are the filters?
7) What type of lighting? age of bulbs?

Your water parameters will help people diagnose your problem.

In my experience it's almost always been related to phosphates and not being diligent about water changes.

I feed 4 times a week
5 gallons every Sunday
I have the current led
I have the rodi buddy and that's about 3 months
I'm also runing a protein skimmer and a uv

You may want to bring a water sample to your LFS (one that you trust obviously) to verify your test results. I'm not doubting you personally, I think that is a good idea for everyone to do that once in a while.

I've had my ups and downs with algae over the past 2 years. Whenever things got bad I always seemed to have positive results by performing somewhat larger water changes, using new filter media, adjusting feeding habits, and testing regularly.

I have two turbos and the light come on at 8:30 am and are off at 20:06

What is your nitrate level? What fish do you have in the tank?

You can try carbon dosing, it worked for me. How old are your bulbs? Could be time for a change. Cutting back your lighting by 2 hours might also work.

cut down your light to 8hrs a day that is way to much light. ^ to xavibear he may have nitrates but cuz he has so much hair algae it may not show up cuz it consumes it before you can read it. what are you using for water. tap or rodi

Nitrates & phosphates don't always show up when there is an algae problem. I was asking if the op tested for it. When asked for parameters, he stated that they are good. What does that mean, what did he test for?

I tested for phosphate and nitrates and their both 0 but the phosphate is at 0 but starting to go up and I am usen rodi

I got a 150 cube, 4 clowns, 3 (used to be 5) chromies, 2 damsels, an algae blenny, 4 BTAs and a yellow tang. there are also 2 turbo snails in the tank, a couple of hermits and a dozen other snails. I feed about 6-8 shrimp and 6-8 blended clams a week, in addition to wife feeding the fish a pinch of flake every day. Running an algae scrubber that is still maturing and while the nitrates register (somewhere under 5 but definitely not zero) there's not even a bit of algae in the tank. In fact I put in a couple of rocks that you could barely see underneath the hair / other nasty algae and in under a week it was all clean and nice, not a sign of algae. I will make a thread after this scrubber is running for a longer time and proves to be a marathon rather than a sprint runner, but, so far it proves that a tank can be run on light, food, kalkwasser and heavy algae growth in a dedicate / specialized space.

I've also never had such PE with the exception of the times when I brought in "fluorescent water" straight from the ocean.

I don't think your lighting schedule is too long. I run mine the same amount of time and have no algae

If it's hair algae, try hydrogen peroxide. Lots of good articles on it.
